Jenn's Reverie

Can you believe that's Alanis Morissette? I couldn't. I caught VH1 Live today and it was Mrs. Morrissette doing an acoustic set of her album "Jagged Little Pill."

She did the set in celebration of the albums 10th anniversary. I think I want it. I never wanted the album when it first came out, but this sounded awesome. I've always liked her voiced and she just tore it up live.

She also has this whole new look going and she looks stunning. I couldn't believe it was her. She has new hair, new clothes and her make-up's done all pretty. Props on the new Morissette.

You can catch some audio/video at VH1.com.

As for those who haven't heard any Audioslave, I'm still waiting on that report. I'm not letting you guys off easy! They (Audioslave) just recently made history! "On May 6, Audioslave became the first American rock group to play Cuba, attracting the largest crowd to attend a concert by an American artist in the communist country's history. About 60,000 rock-starved fans cheered, cried and sang along as Audioslave made rock history." Quoted from Audioslave.com

And one more thing, GO READ MEXI'S POST "Why I Open Fire!" Don't ask question's, just get your ass over there! And leave him comments, I wanna know what you all think about it. But leave me comments first, k.

Wow, that is truly a crazy pic... I hated her when she came out first, but now I have grown to appreciate her voice.. doesn't mean I like her music, but I can appreciate the talent...

if you want that CD just go to Starbucks, it's all over that fucken place.

Mexi rules, you rule Jenn, the 4th rules.

Wow, you must be getting old like me; I usually wait at least 3 years to see if I really want a CD before I buy it. That way I avoid the one song space collectors on the shelf.
Alanis is also growing up. I saw her on some show (forget which) and she didn't seem to have that edgy angst anymore. It will be interesting to watch where her creativity takes her now, dealing with contentment and joy of life instead being all pissed off. Wonder if her fans are moving there also...

Chris Cornell's voice reminds me of a young John Fogarty (CCR). I don't dislike it; but the relative mellowness (in comparison) of the new material frustrates my metal-loving heart. I think I'll stick to older Soundgarden for now.

The great thing with piracy. IF it sucks, it makes a nice frisbee. If not, you got it fast & gratis.

The CDs (listened to both) were good - now speaking of your love Audioslave - I had heard a number of those songs before & just didn't know it was them. By the end a lot started sounding the same, but maybe that was the copious amounts of beer.

Thanks for what you said on Goody's blog.

I like Alanis Morrisette.

11:28 AM

I LOVE Alanis-she was the first person I saw in concert back in the day and I LOVED that album.

Listen hot mama-email me soon okay- we need to chat!!

I can't say there is a reason for it but I only like one of Alanis' songs and it's "Uninvited." I think it's because it has a very spooky vibe to it with the lush orchestration.

11:16 PM

I think she bowed to the needs of the public!!! She looks like Cheryl Crow! Without the goo looks!

Jenn, Katie and I had this talk a long time ago about how we both listened to Jagged Little Pill in our infancy in the 90's. I actually admitted to her that it's probably in my top 20 fav albums of all time. I listened to the fuck out of that cd. I'm not a big fan of the acoustic versions (i like them but i'm original all the way) I liked Alanis when she was all young and sporadic and rockadelly. She was a very precious Canadian and now she looks all momish. I still love her eh. You've already won me overrrrrrrrrr inspite of me, but don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet.

I have to say that I think remaking an album that you did ten years ago in an effort to revive a stalled career is pretty lame. Alanis came out like an explosion. She should have had a fantastic career. This is sort of like Guns and Roses deciding to ramake Appetite for Destruction if you ask me. I would have prefered to see her try soemthing truly new.

She does look fantastic though. I will give her that.

10 anything scares me now. Soon it's fifteen, and then, god forbid, twenty-something and fossils.

9:16 PM

Well basically Axl is living off the rewards of his past albums. Appetite For Destruction still sells a few thousand coupies in America alone every single week. It's still in the top 10 in some other countries like Finland. The whole remake thing was to do the album with the new band and make it a bonus disc or something. That ideas been scrapped, but if you woulda heard Nightrain with Buckethead's solo on it, you'd be saying Slash who? Pretty amazing stuff nontheless and Axl will shine his light on the world very soon. Chinese Democracy is going to amaze the naysayers and the yaysayers. Hoorah.

8:32 AM

wow..i like the new look at well, hey..did you see audioslave on the live 8 thing saturday? they were awesome as usual girl..love them dudes!

11:52 AM

The music industry has also succeeded in turning Jewel into a slut too, thank god for the music industry.

12:10 PM
